Wending’s style is characterized by heavy impasto, bold color palettes, and a semi-abstract approach to traditional subjects. His work has been compared to Lee Krasner, Max Beckmann, Lyonel Feininger and George Grosz as well as Grace Hartigan and Perle Fine Key Themes: Still lifes (often floral), harbor scenes, and Mid-Century Modern abstract cityscapes.
